No snood, No food.

Well it's been quite a busy time for me so I haven't had the chance to update, sorry about that. Last weekend my parents took me to a dog park. It was kinda neat, but I'm not so sure about it. They separate the park by big dogs and small dogs.

The big dog park is HUGE, lots of room for me to run around, but it's all dirt unlike the little dog park that's all grass. We went to the big dog park first since that's where I really belong. The dogs there were nice and said hello, but I was more content being petted by their humans instead of playing with them. I did try to chase after an Australian Shepherd puppy that was playing with a tennis ball, except every time I tried all the other big dogs would join in and I didn't like having someone else chase me. Thankfully I'm still small enough to fit under the tables so their humans could protect me. Eventually two big Great Danes came and kinda spoiled the mood for everyone, just as I was starting to get used to the placed and wandering farther out to play.

We were gonna leave, but my mommy heard the dogs in the little dog park having fun so we went to go check it out. The little dogs aren't nearly as scary as the big dogs, their owners even invited us into the park to play with them since I'm not too big yet. The only thing I didn't like about the little dog park is that the little dogs are small enough to go under the table so there's no place to hide.

Both parks were fun once I got used to the idea of playing with other dogs, hopefully I'll get to go again sometime. My mommy said were going to try to go to a dog show this weekend to get me used to all the noises and people, but if we can't go then she'll take me back to the park.

Barbie also showed me why I have to wear my snood when I eat, even though I'm a puppy and don't really need it yet. I keep trying to find our snoods and hide them so my mommy can't find them when its time to eat. In the mornings she's always on a tight time schedule so she doesn't always find our snoods in time, my whining for breakfast doesn't help either, so she lets us go without snoods a few times. I did great without my snood and prefer not to have it, but since Barbie has long ear hair it drops in her bowl when she eats. I didn't notice anything after the first time without her snood, but by the third time you could tell she chewed off part of the her ear hair and now she looks silly and lopsided. Mommy is hoping her hair grows back in time for the specialty, but until it does she's going to have an asymmetrical hairdo.

Antiquing

I had a great time this past weekend going to the antique swap meet at the great park. Though I don't know why they call it a great park, to me it looked more like an old rundown airport and all the trees were in boxes. What kind of a park keeps their trees in boxes? There weren't even that many of them, even little ole me could count the number of trees, which was only about 12. Parks should have trees, and shade, and grass.

Despite the lack of the great park being an actual park, I still had a blast! I got to meet lots of nice people and even some dogs. There was even another puppy there. His owners said he was a 4 month old Australian Shepherd. He seemed a bit shy at first, but I once a giggled at his stubby little tail he came up to say hello. Most people there even knew I was an Afghan Hound, only 2 people said other breeds like Saluki or Greyhound. One silly person tried to say that there was no way I was an Afghan because I was too small, I guess she never heard about puppies. Heck even Snuppy was a puppy once, he wasn't just automatically cloned into an adult dog. A lot of people had great stories about their Afghans that they used to have growing up. Some people I met said they also used to breed Afghans. Of course there were the handful of people who were misguided and thought that Afghans were supposed to be dumb. They couldn't understand how I was so well behave and polite. I think my favorite part of the swap meet was the shopping. There was so much neat stuff there.

My mommy said she was really proud of me. It was the first time in a week that I had gone back in the car and I didn't have any accidents. I've mostly caught on to the idea of going potty when I go out for my walks after eating and before bed. Whenever I forget to go my parents always follow me around the house after and spoil my fun. How is a puppy supposed to get into trouble if someone is constantly watching? She was expecting me to only last a half hour at the swap meet, but I made it an entire hour with no problem. I could have walked around even longer, but the swap meet was ending and all the vendors were packing up early so they could go see a Super Bowl. I don't know what a Super Bowl is, but if it's anything like a great park then they are going to be greatly disappointed. When it was time to go I had to get back into the car. In the past I've been nervous about the car and didn't like getting in. I would always make my mommy lift me up into the car, of course every time she did that she would say "up" like somehow I'm going to learn how to do this on my own someday. Well I tried to do it on my own and it wasn't a scary as I thought I was. Barbie has been teaching me how to jump onto things, and then jump off real fast because we're not supposed to be on them. She told me jumping into the car is great fun. I guess I should have listened to her sooner because she was right. I should also probably give a shout out to the guy who designed the armrest for my seat. It makes a perfect spot to rest my head after an exciting day. I was so tired after I ended up sleeping until dinner.

I must admit though I haven't been a completely perfect puppy, at least not yet. I'm still losing my puppy teeth so my gums are really sore. I've found that chewing on things really helps, but I get bored chewing on the same toys every day, besides I don't want to ruin anymore of my toys. I accidentally ripped the ear off my favorite toy because I loved it too much. And since I'm loosing all my teeth it makes my gums bleed so now my puppy looks like it belongs to a Zombie uprising, but I still love it anyways.

Home Alone

I think I've decided to stay. I've been settling in quite well and getting used to my daily routine. My mommy has been leaving me home alone, with Barbie of course, and it's really helped to keep me on a schedule. I've learned that when my mommy takes me out in the morning after breakfast that I need to go potty so I can play afterwards. I still do have an occasional accident; it's mainly when my daddy's home because he's not as strict on our walks. It's not all his fault though, since I'm still a puppy I get distracted easily and lose focus. He's never raised a puppy before so my mommy has to teach him about puppy raising too. He's learning fast and even figured out that I make a better paper shredder than a mail sorter.

Barbie has started to play with me. She's likes to play tag and tolerates my puppy zoomies very well. She even lets me share her water bowl and go into her crate. I don't know if I already told you but her crate is a lot bigger than mine and has more bedding, I'm so jealous.

I lost another tooth today! Mommy says tomorrow since I've been growing up so fast she's going to take me to an antique swap meet. Apparently it's a great place to socialize. Hopefully I'll meet some nice people and dogs. I'll have to tell you all about it in my next post.

On a final note, my mommy was playing with her camera phone and taking silly pictures of Barbie and me. Barbie didn't want me to share this photo, but it's too funny not to.
