Sunny side up

Well it's been a busy week for me. The sun has been staying up later and later. My mommy says that's because of a thing called daylight savings, basically it because the government decided to extend the suns curfew so we can all work longer or something like that. Which means I get to work more too and practice showing outside. It's not as bad as it sounds though. Don't let my mommy know, but I actually like working, at least the first few times that I do something. Mommy's pretty good at keeping things interesting and she gives plenty of treats for doing things correctly. When we go out to work she brings my show lead, flirt pole, and walking collar so if I start to get bored she can change to something else.

We were able to make it out to the dog show this weekend. It turned out to be a bit of a family reunion. My brothers Smurfy & Nico and my sisters Raz & Crackers were there. I'm not the little sister anymore and have grown to be as big as they are. Nico, Raz, and Crackers were showing so Smurfy and I cheered them on.

That's Nico, he's being shown my his mommy Linda. Nico has his own blog too, just like me. It's theadventuresoflittlenico.blogspot.com if you want to check it out. Nico ended up winning his class and getting reserve winners dog.

Here's Crackers with our breeder. She got second in her class and reserve winners bitch.

And lastly this is Raz with Mandy. Mandy is a professional handler that works with our breeder. Raz won her class, got winners bitch, and Best opposite sex.

I ended up breaking the flirt toy on my flirt pole this morning. My daddy and I were playing with it inside and I pulled on it too hard, it split right in two. Thankfully my mommy wasn't too upset with us. She said it needed to be redone anyways and she was already planning on changing it and making some more flirt toys to put on it. I was a bit disappointed about it breaking though. We were all planning on going to the dog park and my mommy was going to bring my flirt pole with us to play with at the park. My mommy was able to make a quick fix and tied a plastic Baggie onto it so I could still play with it at the park.

As you can see I had tons of fun with my flirt pole. I hope my mommy can make me some more flirt toys soon, though I do like being able to shred up the plastic bags. Apparently they use plastic bags for lure coursing, so it's a good thing for me to enjoy "killing" them.

6 months old... Finally!

Not much to update this week. I turned 6 months old on the 7th. That means I'm almost grown up. I'm on adult dog food now and I'm as big as Barbie. Mommy says I've still got some growing to do and won't be fully mature until I'm at least 2 years old. She also said we get to go and watch another dog show this weekend. Apparently my brother Nico is going to be there showing so we get to cheer him on.

Mommy finished my show training stand, it's lots of fun to work with because all I have to do is stand there and eat treats. No one took any pictures of me, but mommy says I look really good on it. Barbie and I got to go to the dog park again this weekend. I had lots of fun running around with all the other dogs while Barbie found a shady place to watch us. She did eventually chase after me once most of the other dogs left. There was a German shepherd there that was super fast. She could dash across the entire park in about 3 seconds, it takes me 5. I tried to catch her whenever she chased a ball, but there was no way I could keep up. Except I was always able to get the ball and come back faster. She wasn't able to stop and turn around fast enough to get the ball before I got there. Mommy says that's because I'm built to be agile and fast over varying terrain and not just fast in a straight on a flat surface.

I don't know if you can tell, but if you look really closely at Barbie's feet you can see some black dots. That's not a problem with the camera. Those black dots are burs. They get caught up in her long hair, I suppose I'll start collecting them too once my hair grows out. Mommy said she must have picked up every single one in the park. Barbie always likes to check the perimeter whenever we go to a new yard. Thankfully Mommy always plans on bathing us after we go to the dog park. But she said when Barbie got her bath there was only one bur left in her coat, apparently they had all fallen out by the time we got home. I guess that's supposed to happen if we have the correct silky coat type most debris, like burs and fox tails, will fall out of the coat.

Rain drops keep fallin' on my head

Well it's been a wet and rainy weekend. We even had something called thunder. At first I thought is was the neighbor above us moving furniture, I think they have wood floors because we hear a lot of stomping around when they get home. Thankfully the rain didn't prevent me from going to the antique swap meet this weekend, as you can see I didn't really mind the sprinkling and the puddles were kinda fun. There were even a bunch of people who remembered me from last month. My daddy also got to stay home all weekend because the rain washed out the hockey rinks so he couldn't play. After the swap meet I got to go shopping at Lowes. I really like shopping, especially when I'm spending someone else's money. My parents bought some wood to make me a homemade dog stand so I can practice my foot placement for stacking. Hopefully I'll have some pictures next week to show off my training.

I got to go the dog show last weekend. I was a bit nervous at first because some of the dogs there were much bigger than me, but my mommy kept  walking and didn't give me a chance to complain. She said dog shows were fun and I would like them as long as I gave it a chance, she was right! By the time we were ready to leave I was trotting around the show grounds like I owned the place. My sister Bailey was there socializing at the show too, it was nice to she her again. It was fun watching the Afghans show, the handlers were really nice, they even giggled at me because I was working for their dogs bait. I also got to meet Sara and her assistant. I really liked them! They had chicken for bait and gave me lots to eat. Sara used to show my relatives when they were competing in the ring.

There was also lots of shopping at the show, though we didn't buy anything. Apparently I have enough toys, whatever that means. They even had some vets there to do health testing, I can't do any testing till 2 years old. I have to wait till I'm fully grown or the tests won't be accurate. I guess I better start studying now, I want to pass my tests with flying colors.

Barbie got to join us last week at the dog park. It's was lots of fun having her there. We played tag around the entire park. All the other dogs tried to join in, but there was no way they could keep up and retreated back to their owners.
